Roy E. Marshall Bio: TEAMSTERS JOINT COUNCIL NO. 40

Prior to becoming President of Teamsters Joint Council 40, I served in every level of the union from shop steward to Principal Officer of the local union.  My career in the Teamsters started in 1969 as a package car delivery driver for United Parcel Service.  In 1983 I became an officer in Teamsters Local Union No. 585.  In 1986 I became a Full Time employee of the union serving as the Executive Assistant to Teamsters Joint Council No. 40 and Assistant Business Agent of Teamsters Local Union No. 585.  In 1996 I became an officer on the Teamsters Joint Council No. 40 Executive Board.

In 1998 I became the President of Teamsters Joint Council No. 40, a position that I hold to date.  In the year 2000 I began to serve as Trustee on the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters Executive Board.  In the year 2002, I moved into the position of Secretary-Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters, a position I also hold to date.  Also in 2002 I assumed the responsibilities of being the Western Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters Political Coordinator.

In addition to these positions and responsibilities, I have also served the membership as Chairman of Benefit Plans and Committees, such as United Parcel Service, Western Pennsylvania Supplemental Agreement and Political Action Committee.  In addition, as an officer of the Teamsters union I have served over the years on a number of special committees at the request of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
